Warning ball is installed on overhead conductors to alert low flying airplanes and helicopters of the obstacle. They are generally placed near airports and on elevated spans crossing rivers, lakes, fjords, valleys, roads, railways, construction sites and pipelines. Other locations are: near military bases, police stations, hospitals,helicopter routes and other low flying areas. Warning Spheres are attached on the uppermost conductors, shieldwires or on the top of power line towers.

Application
The color of marking sphere should be aviation orange, white and red. Normally, the marking spheres are placed on the highest line. Where there is more than one line at the highest level, white and red, or white and orange spheres should be displayed alternately. This alternating color scheme provides the most conspicuity against all back ground.
